Overview

1. Overview

The software uses an Online Subscription Licensing System with hardware binding.

Each license is linked to a specific Hardware ID (HW-ID). An online license validation is required at least every 14 days. If there is no internet connection, the software can be used offline for up to 14 days.

Activation & Validation

3.1 Initial Activation

  1. Create an account at https://www.tiaopenessmanager.ch (email + password)
  2. Choose a tier — Basic free, Pro CHF 9.99/mo, Pro+ CHF 29.99/mo, or 30-day Trial
  3. For Pro/Pro+: complete Stripe Checkout
  4. Install the software (Windows 10/11, x64)
  5. Sign in with your account in the software
  6. Hardware binding happens automatically on first sign-in
  7. Software is unlocked

3.2 License Validation

Online Validation:

  • Occurs automatically at least every 14 days
  • Software contacts license server
  • Checks: License status, Subscription validity

Offline Mode (up to 14 days):

  • Software works without internet connection
  • Last validation is saved locally
  • After 14 days, online validation is required again

3.3 Hardware Binding

  • Each license is bound to a unique Hardware ID of your device
  • Hardware switches are supported: up to 3 switches per rolling 30 days (e.g. new laptop, hardware failure)

Subscription Management

4.1 Automatic Renewal

  • Subscriptions (Pro/Pro+) renew automatically
  • Billing is processed through Stripe
  • Cancellation possible at any time

4.2 Cancellation

Via Stripe Customer Portal:

  1. Receive email with "Manage Subscription" link
  2. Click link → Stripe Portal opens
  3. Cancel subscription

After Cancellation:

  • License remains active until end of paid period
  • After that: Software is deactivated
  • Local data is preserved
  • Reactivation possible at any time

4.3 Upgrade/Downgrade

  • Basic → Pro/Pro+: anytime on the website (Stripe Checkout)
  • Tier change or Monthly ↔ Yearly: via Stripe Customer Portal (link in email footer or Software → Settings → License)
  • Volume license: Org Owner manages seats via web portal /profile/org

Volume Licensing for Teams

How it works

  1. Org Owner buys N seats (Pro or Pro+) in Stripe Checkout — quantity picker on the Pricing page
  2. Assign seats via email invite at /profile/org
  3. User accepts the invite and creates their own account
  4. Hardware binding happens on first sign-in

Org roles:

  • Owner — manages seats and billing
  • Member — uses an assigned seat

Seat transfer: the Owner can revoke a seat from one user (hardware-release cycle) and reassign it.

Floating / concurrent-user licenses are not offered.

5. Trial Version (30 Days Free)

Pro+ Trial:

  • ✅ 30 days full Pro+ functionality
  • ✅ No credit card required
  • ✅ Hardware ID bound (1 trial per device)
  • ✅ Email address required

After Trial Expires:

  • Automatic downgrade to Basic (free)
  • OR: Subscribe to Pro or Pro+

Trial Limit:

  • 1 trial per email address
  • 1 trial per Hardware ID

6. Restrictions & Prohibitions

The licensee may not:

  • ❌ Use license on multiple devices simultaneously
  • ❌ Transfer license to third parties
  • ❌ Manipulate or falsify Hardware ID
  • ❌ Bypass or disable license verification
  • ❌ Share account credentials

In case of misuse:

  • Immediate license suspension
  • No refund
  • Legal action possible

7. Refund Policy

Pro Subscription:

  • No refund for ongoing periods
  • Cancellation stops future charges
  • Access until end of paid period

8. Payment Methods

Accepted Payment Methods (via Stripe):

  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit card
  • SEPA Direct Debit (for subscriptions)
  • Additional methods depending on region

Currency: CHF (Swiss Francs)

9. Check License Status

In the Software:

  • Menu: Help → License Information
  • Shows: License type, validity, Hardware ID, expiration date

Online:

  • Stripe Customer Portal (link via email)
  • Shows: Subscription status, next payment, invoices
