TIA Openness Manager (also searched as TIA Openess Manager) was the desktop tool for TIA Openness: export, import, compare, OPC UA, Password Vault, Find Unused and Unit Testing. Its development has moved into AnyAutomation Studio, an Automation Engineering IDE that contains all of these capabilities and adds an AI chat with project context, Project Search, PLC Online, Trace, Commissioning Report, Hardware Simulation, Forge, EPLAN Connector, CODESYS and SCADA. Yes. You sign in to AnyAutomation Studio with the same account you used for TIA Openness Manager. Whether your existing subscription is recognised in AnyAutomation Studio is shown in your account after sign-in; the current plans are on anyautomation.ch. Activation, hardware binding and organisation seats are described on the licensing page.

They open unchanged. Export folders created with TIA Openness Manager can be imported and compared in AnyAutomation Studio, and a .vault file created with the old Password Vault is read by the Password Vault in Studio with the same master password.

All releases and release notes are on GitHub. AnyAutomation Studio checks for new versions automatically after installation.

AnyAutomation Studio supports TIA Portal V15 through V21 on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). Project files with the extensions .ap15 through .ap21 can be opened directly. S7DCL export and import and text search inside graphical blocks are available from TIA Portal V20.

Yes, TIA Portal must be installed on the same computer, but it does not have to be running. AnyAutomation Studio can attach to a running TIA Portal instance or open a project directly from file.

This is a Siemens requirement. Without membership in this Windows user group, TIA Portal refuses any Openness connection. Setup takes two minutes and is described step by step on the Set up Siemens TIA Openness page.

TIA Portal only allows Openness access for programs on its whitelist. The AnyAutomation Studio installer registers that entry during installation, so the confirmation dialog normally does not appear. If TIA Portal still asks, confirm the access once.

Minimum 4 GB RAM, 8 GB recommended. For projects with many blocks we recommend 16 GB. Disk space required is about 2 GB. The installer needs administrator rights.

You bring your own API key or sign in with your provider account, for example Claude, GPT or Gemini, or you run a local model with Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM or SGLang on your own hardware. No request passes through AnyAutomation servers: the chat talks to the provider you configured, and with a local model nothing leaves your machine. Details on the AI assistant for TIA Portal page.

With a cloud provider the chat needs an internet connection. With a local model the chat works without one. AI features stay inactive until you configure a provider.

Yes, as a client. You add external MCP servers, and their tools become available in the AI chat alongside the built-in TIA Portal tools. AnyAutomation Studio does not run as an MCP server that other AI clients connect to.

No. AnyAutomation Studio works entirely locally on your machine. Project data never leaves your computer through the software. Only the licence validation communicates with our server; what it sends is listed on the security page.

The Password Vault encrypts all entries with AES-256. Your master password never leaves your machine and is never stored. If you lose your master password, we cannot recover the entries.

Yes. The licence is bound to your account and to your hardware. Up to 3 hardware switches per rolling 30 days are self-service through the web portal. For more frequent switches, contact support@tiaopenessmanager.ch.

AnyAutomation Studio uses the official Siemens TIA Portal Openness interface, but it is not a Siemens product and is not certified by Siemens. It is developed and maintained independently.
